Day 2, Tuesday, July 13th – A hot continental breakfast is included this morning, and then you head south along the Flathead Lake and follow the alpine scenery on your way to Lake McDonald. Day 3, Wednesday, July 14th – Today following an included breakfast, your excursion takes you to the picturesque Jasper National Park. The Icefield Parkway is described as “the most spectacular stretch of highway” in the entire Canadian National Park system. Cast your eyes upward to the summit of the majestic mountains and observe the last remnants of the forgotten age. Imagine what it must have looked like some 30,000 |
| years ago to the last Ice Age. Huge glaciers hanging from the tops of the mountains and others slowly creeping through wedged-out valleys create a vision of the past. You can literally get out and walk on it, drink the water and snap awesome photos! A new interpretive centre introduces you to this massive remnant of the last Ice Age. After an included dinner, a unique adventure awaits you this evening as you step aboard a giant Ice Explorer. A sunset drive takes you to the top of this amazing living glacier, the Athabasca Glacier, in the ancient Columbia Icefields. Day 4, Thursday, July 15th – Following an included breakfast, the beauty continually rolls by. A series of graceful waterfalls and glistening lakes are deserving of a fabulous photo stop. Soon you witness the most photographed spot in all of Canada, glistening Lake Louise, renowned for its beauty. This is also your lunch on own stop. Take time to stroll along this beautiful emerald green lake that sits below Victoria Glacier. Who were the lake and glacier named for? Join us and we will answer this question along with many more. Your make a lunch (on own) stop at mesmerizing Lake Louise. Then you visit the quaint township of Banff in charming Banff National Park which spans over 2,563 square miles of mountain wilderness. Day 5, Friday, July 16th – A short drive today takes you to Calgary, formerly known as Cow town. Calgary is a vibrant city that offers the best of all worlds, and is your home for the next two evenings. Dinner is included tonight atop the Calgary Tower with its 762 stairs. Of course we do not expect you to walk them; an elevator takes you to the revolving panorama dining room (531 feet above ground) with incredible views of Calgary and the surrounding area. Folks from all over the world come to experience the action packed Chuckwagon Races that are yours to enjoy tonight. Day 6, Saturday, July 17th – This morning after a continental breakfast is yours to enjoy at leisure or be as busy as you wish to be. Check out the Bar Stool Races, Devonian Gardens (a lovely indoor park), or take part in the daily parade. |
| Later this morning you are off to Stampede Park where there is more action going on than you will have time to enjoy. To mention a few; horse pulling contests, pig races, musical stage shows, dog shows, Indian Village, Royal Canadian Mounties, gigantic food court from all around the world, bingo, and of course the casino! Calgary is famous for its legendary western hospitality and especially at Stampede Time! This afternoon, follow the footsteps of the Old West and witness the excitement and celebration of the Wild West at the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” the memorable Calgary Stampede (Rodeo)! Day 7, Sunday, July 18th – Today you say good-bye to Canada, and it is back to the Red, White & Blue! Your overnight is Butte, MT and a great western dinner awaits you in this unique town famous for the mining era, Victorian Mansions, “ Our Lady of the Rockies,” and the diverse backgrounds of the locals! (CB & D) Day 8, Wednesday, July 19th – Look back on your adventure of the last several days. Remember the incredible scenery, new friendships made, excitement of the Calgary Stampede, and breathtaking National Parks! Touch the Past! Hear the Sound of Laughter!
